The French Ecoscore

Set for autumn 2024, the ecoscore will revolutionize transparency in the fashion industry.

Environmental labeling is a voluntary (and soon-to-be mandatory in 2025) system that includes a visual representation of the environmental impact (or score) of a product. This score is to appear on the packaging or on any medium used to communicate to the end customer.

Updates on the new methodology, to expand the scope of environmental indicators have been added recently. The noteworthy additions include:

The integration of microplastic indicators

2. Impact Measurement

We have deep domain expertise in deploying a comprehensive LCA methodology, leveraging the 16 impact criteria outlined by the PEF framework. This structured approach allows us to accurately analyze the environmental footprint of each product.

What's more, we closely monitor the updates on the ecoscore methodology not only on the French but also at the EU level.
